Regarding the colours, it seems that the brown trout generally show poor interest for glossy spinners. On the other hand, rainbow trout are extremely curious and will always be attracted to the glitzy lure.

In spite of all, it is necessary to keep in mind the intensity of lighting when choosing your spinner colour, because during bright weather and in clear waters all fish seem lighter to the trout than when the water is unclean or the weather dark.
Light, silver or golden spoons are used during sunny weather and in clear waters, while darker, black or brass spoons and used in dark weather and murky waters.
