High lake bottoms

The easiest way to fish in lakes with high bottoms is to fish from a boat. These places are known for the different water colour. Those of interest to us are found in the vicinity of large depths, usually from 15 to 20 m.

The top of that hill, close to the water surface, therefore the light too, is covered in vegetation which enables the pike to patiently wait for fish shoals.
Regarding the perch, they move like an elevator, up and down, more times a day, depending on the light. You need to look for them between the surface and 10 m depth.

Walleye have a rather unusual behaviour. Their resting zone is at 15 to 20 m depth, at the foot of the high bottoms. However, their hunting zone is between two waters, between 10 m and the water surface. When one shoal of small fish is found encircled in the middle of nothing, they have no possibility to hide! It is impossible to escape in the wide space. The walleye know this… and take advantage of it.
