Specificity of all the rivers are their uneven currents, which are sometimes strong, sometimes wild, and sometimes weak. Current determines the fish behaviour. The best example for this are the river bends. The bank from the outer side suffers from erosion, which means that these are the deepest locations. On the contrary, the inner side of the bend is where alluvials from the upstream bank are piling up.
There are three different zones. The bank in the inner side of the bend is shallow. Alluvials encourage the growth of various water vegetation… Right here, in a place removed from the wild currents, the pike await prey.
On the opposite bank, the shore is caved in and the perch inhabit even the smallest shelters. Every hole is occupied, whether a larger concave or smaller, tree roots sticking out, etc.
As far as walleye is concerned, they occupy those places with the strongest currents and greatest depth.
Catfish cross from the deep quiet zone to the inner shallow shore bend a few times a day, where they catch prey.
